I don't normally do this, but here it is. I had an appointment to see the allergist Dr. Buttram with this office 01/09/16 in Lindale. I have been to multiple doctors for the same health issue and was referred here in hopes of finding maybe a small piece of the puzzle to what is going on with a possible food or drug related allergy. The receptionist and the nurse who checked me in were kind and friendly. I was taken back quickly even being 15min early to my appointment. As I spoke with the nurse she stated that the doctor has a resident with him that would be with him and would be in shortly. I waited and the internist Christopher Cooper (who practices in Longview as MD with internal medicine.) I spoke with him ALONE, so not who I came to see, but he seemed to be receptive to my health concerns. After about 45 minutes he steps out. I thought maybe he might be going to consult with the actual doctor I came to see, but instead I immediately here him mocking me in the hallway with the nurses. I hear them very clearly speaking about me mocking my reasoning for even being here. This went on for several minutes. I thought about leaving, but I PAID to be here and see Dr. Buttram. Finally, DR. Buttram comes in and introduces himself. He IMMEDIATLEY sits down and tells me he's not really sure the reason I'm here and that there wasn't anything he could do in this office. I ask him directly if he's refusing to test me for any food or any other allergies/allergens that might be causing some issues with my health. He said "yes." I thank him and I let him know I would now be leaving.
I could not believe the unprofessional behavior conducted between the nursing and doctor staff in this office. I paid this office to HELP me. NOT mock me and refuse me any medical help. I WILL not be seeing this DR. Again and am embarrassed that an entire staff is OK with this behavior. I have never been treated with such disrespect from a "professional" health office. I do understand that there are folks who have bad days, but speaking about a patient within ears distance who came to YOUR office for help is simply unacceptable. I have reached out to the office manager Latisha williams, but she has yet to call me back.
Thank you!
I have seen Dr Buttram for, what my family doctor called, asthma. Dr Buttram listened attentively to my concerns and gave me a breathing test. The numbers did not show asthma. He questioned me further and diagnosed me with reflux even though I don't have heartburn. He said there were signs of silent reflux. He prescribed medication and continued to see me for three months even though what I had wasn't in his realm of specialty.
The location is nice & the staff pleasant BUT due to the issues I have had with their billing department, I cannot recommend ANY UT Health facility.
The billing department is incompetent & unresponsive!
The entire staff is friendly and very awesome people. Every time I go with my girls for their appointments, the ladies at the front desk remember them by name. Very great environment. Friendly and reliable doctors. Close location to home. If need be, we can do walk ins and the doctor would see us on the spot.
I am grateful to Dr Buttram for his detective work in figuring out that my shortness of breath was from reflux! It has been bothering me for four years and now I finally have the answer.
